Fraud Alert Information:

A new form of Internet fraud known as "phishing" involves e-mail messages that appear to be from a legitimate source, such as a financial institution, asking for confidential information. The e-mails often say that there has been some account error or problem, and requests the consumer to include confidential information in their reply.

Virginia Savings Bank will never send an e-mail requesting your confidential account information.

Be on the lookout for an e-mail that appears to be from regulations.gov, a government site that allows consumers to comment on federal rule making. The fraudulent e-mail, often claiming to provide important information for credit card holders, asks for personal financial information.
